TIME FOR A TALE. LET US TO YOU THE
ORIGIN STORY
RESERVOIR LOGS:
Reservoir Dogs was popularized in 1992 with the hit movie. Our Reservoir Logs is a play on words and was popularized in 2023 when we came out with it! It's also very fitting because in many places, mainly in the past, logs were stored in ponds or reservoirs to keep them fresher and from cracking when they dried out.
GENTLEMEN'S AGREEMENT:
In the 1960s the brothers from Novosel Lumber asked a bank for a $1M loan to buy timber they would then broker and sell overseas. Not knowing much about log brokering, black cherry lumber values, or scaling logs the Novosel brothers invited bankers, accountants, and their attorneys to go to the woods to show and teach them. Based on that meeting they gave them the loan under a "gentlemen's agreement" because they had enough faith in them to take that chance. It was a million dollar handshake and a whole lot of trust. We're fortunate someone was there to take a picture of that meeting.
TREES LOUISE:
Everyone has heard the expression "Gees Louise." To make it our own we incorporated a more appropriate wood vibe that also is the expression one can use when tasting this beer. Our rendition is also a tip of the cap to hard working women everywhere who have a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude to work hard and get things done.
MISERY WHIP
Misery Whip is an old-school term for a very large cross-cut saw. It is not your boss, it is not your significant other, but we love hearing the creative uses of the term! These cross-cut saws were used to cut down or bucking up very large trees before chainsaws were around. Don't get knicked by the misery whip!
